One of my co-workers gave me a Christmas card a few minutes ago and the verse inside read: God gives us so may reasons to celebrate!
Can I get an AMEN!?!!!!
While reading this, these were the reasons that flooded my mind first although I have thousands and thensome.
1. This morning I was running late for work. As I started my commute, the traffic was flowing 65 mph or more as usual and I was listening to one of my gospel CD's as usual. Within 3 minutes of my commute, I see nothing but brake lights ahead and the traffic slows to 20 mph. To my right were two fire trucks and a few police cars. In between them was a SUV half in the lane and half on the shoulder. Against the concrete barrier that separates traffic going in the opposite direction was a Blue compact car with the front end smashed to where the steering wheel should be and a woman standing next to the car with her hands on her head as in disbelief. There were no ambulances or sounds of one approaching so I celebrate that hopefully no one was fatally injured and that God spared me from being in that accident.
2. I have been listening to a new radio station at work and sometimes on my commute home. The ads throughout the city read: Music for the whole family. They have played tons of Christmas songs as well as Praise and Worship music. A few days ago they read a Christmas wish someone sent in for a woman who is a single mom that walks to work. When it was raining, she put trash bags over her and her son and used it as a game as they walked to daycare and work. She was given a car by a Toyota dealership plus money to buy her son toys for Christmas. I was celebrating with her as I was driving in my Honda and listening to her thank the radio DJ in between her tears.
3. The smiles on my girls' faces are enough to make The Grinch melt. I celebrate everytime I see one and especially when they give me hugs and kisses. Unfortunately I have a few female friends who do not have children and I wonder who gives them hugs everyday. They are saved women so it is no knuckle head or man shacking up in their home. There was a time I did not like little people but now I cannot imagine the world without them. A doctor once told me I would never physically have a child but God said differently. Even when my girls misbehave, I have found reasons to celebrate them in my life.
Like I mention. These are the first three so I shared them. Okay, I will share one more.
I celebrate that I am not who I use to be. That I do not think and live like I use to live. I do not believe and doubt like I use to. I do not sing and dance like I use to. I do not dwell on the past and I believe in the future. I celebrate old friends and look forward to a new love. I celebrate everyday that My Father is with me and He is reason enough to celebrate!
What reasons have God given you to celebrate?

Obama vs. Guiliani?
Could we have a presidential election of Obama vs Giuliani? To even imagine this is fun and shows it could be a brighter day in America! I am looking forward to voting in the 2008 Presidential Election! All the political cartoons and commercials from here until then should be interesting. Unfortunately, everyone will have to be PC so that should lessen some of the below the belt jabs. Regardless, the next four years of leadership in America is critical so please make sure you vote!
