Last night was our third Money Matters class and it was good as expected.
I was disappointed that the one lady who seemed determined to attend- single mom who caught a cab to and from the previous classes- was not there for reasons unknown to our instructor. Disappointed that the one older lady was present this week because she seem to have a lot of financial knowledge but has no clue how to organize and utilize it. She kept interrupting our teacher with financial statistics from 10 and 20 yrs ago, when if she would have just kept quiet she would have learned how to reconcile her bank statement and APY's as they pertain to today. Happy that the one lady who has shared some recent financial struggles with her car and job, made it to class late but still managed to laugh and smile throughout class as she realized she understood how to reconcile her bank statement and how to compute compound interest. Happy that the young twice-divorced lady made it to class all the way from Denton and kept me laughing as she continued to ask the director of the program what they were going to do for her by taking this class. I hate to think this but wonder if this has anything to do with why she has been divorced twice.
In addition to learning how to teach money management to my future clients, our instructor is teaching me the difference in effectiveness when the teacher is enthusiastic, knowledgeable, organized and articulate. This is her first time teaching a series of classes on her own and she has done awesome- Power Point, visual aids, handouts, group interactions and chocolate for correct answers. I plan to be even better not to take away from her but to push myself and make my business a success.

You have an interesting array of characters/ real people in your class....I feel like reading your digest of each class is like reading a book where you slowly get to know each character in the book as you get further and further.
