Eventually I want to wear a huge Afro where I can pull it back in a big Afro puff or wear a headband and big earrings. I love that look but I am a few years from getting my hair this long. Therefore, I have to fake it until I can make it.
So a few weeks ago I decided to get braids or a wig. Every year I get a new hair style. I usually let my hair grow out, then cut it extremely short then take the whole year to let it grow out again to only cut it again. I stopped by a salon to see if my hair was long enough for braids but the stylist said it was more suitable for a "quick weave". Luckily I am not embarrassed to ask questions that most women already know because I had no idea what a "quick weave" was. The stylist informed me that instead of braiding the synthetic hair into my natural hair, they glue hair to your natural hair. I visualized myself walking through the grocery store or halls at work and my weave fallen out, down my back and onto the floor. I imagine they use something similar to super glue but I was not going to chance it.
So I got up the nerve to buy a wig. And let me admit... I love it! I will also admit that I prayed before going into the wig store for
God to show me what was suitable since I was treading in new waters. The first four days I was wearing it crocked and did not know it but now everything is okay.

My youngest daughter thinks I look beautiful and my oldest daughter's only comment was, "It's so curly, Mommy?" My oldest daughter obviously does not remember when my natural hair was this long and puffy after I untied my twists. What was funny is when I got home, I looked at a picture seating in my living room of me, my brother and sister Robin, and the hair style is the same. That photo was taken in 2003 and I forgot the style was similar.
After accepting my new look, I realized I need a back-up plan for when my head needs air or when this one is getting washed. So today I bought another wig. I made sure it had the same highlights but it is straight instead of curly and longer down my back. I will have to take a picture and come back and post it. So if you are reading this, check back in a few weeks for other look. It's unbe-weave-able!
